just as you said - plenty of never heard before stuff and really fun to listen to.you can hear Jmi flying around and UFO S dropping themselves Laufing and playing and after all isn t thats what its all about?
A must for the true fan.... - I was actually at 4 of Hendrix performances in the San Francisco Bay Area. This CD captures the essence of Jimi live and in the studio as I would imagine him to be. Jimi, Noel, and Mitch who I just saw last week at a Tribute concert in SF are there to be heard as they were meant to be. I could imagine being there as I listened. I recommend this set of CD s for any true fan of Jimi and The Experience as an insightful journey into the past. Make sure you check out EMP in Seattle as well. Sleepy

Wow! - The first song Purple Haze was the same arrangement Jimi Hendrix did when I saw him in 1967. What an incredible compilation. Exceptional for any Jimi Hendrix collector!
Alternate cuts - I bought this boxed set after my old Hendrix CD s mysteriously disappeared. I thought the set would replace the classic albums, but every track is an alternate version. With the exception of a Star Spangled Banner (which bears NO resemblence to the awesome Woodstock version) the cuts make acceptable -- and occasionally superior -- substitutes for the classic Hendrix hits.
